About
I have been a professional photographer since the mid 1980’s working for an eclectic mix of advertising, design, editorial and publishing clients including the BBC, the National Trust, IPC Media, Volkswagen, Cassell Publishing and The English Garden magazine. In more recent times, roughly coinciding with my move from London to Bristol in 2003, I have been exhibiting my own personal work in galleries locally and nationally (and internationally if you include Ikea stores!).
The images on this website all started off as original photographs, either transparencies, which are then scanned to make digital files, or straight digital files from a digital camera. These are then manipulated using computer software to greater or lesser extents, depending on the effects I am after. Some will still be very much recognizable as a photograph and, hopefully, some will not.
My subject matter is varied, though I do like urban cityscapes and I’m inspired by the buildings and landscape of the West Country, be it the Georgian terraces of Bristol and Bath or the vernacular architecture of places such as Lyme Regis and Poundbury.
Gardens and flowers also make an occasional appearance along with a host of other bits and bobs in the miscellany section of the gallery .
All images are for sale either as limited edition prints or open edition prints – please go to the prints section on the menu for more details.
